Self-Portrait as a Marcher

During the 2017-2018 school year, I shared the WHEN WE MARCH manuscript and accompanying illustrations with my 7th grade class in Reno, Nevada. As part of the lesson and discussion around the book, I asked the students to draw their own illustrations—a self-portrait of themselves at a march. It’s so powerful to see their ideas and their words!

We plan to feature many of these student drawings in the book itself — and we’d love to include more! Please consider supporting our project on Kickstarter: One of the pledge rewards is a chance to see your own child’s drawing in the completed book!
